Congratulations and good luck to Jessie Mersereau on the lease of Mita Bar Bailey. I'm sure it won't be difficult for you to show everyone what an Appaloosa can do in the dressage ring. Maybe we'll see you in the Appaloosa ring as well?

Congratulations to all in Nova Scotia who made the ApHCC 2007 Top Ten.   It is great to consistantly see us do so well on the Top Ten list.

Logranch Appaloosas (Ardoise NS) Has acquired the ownership rights to the mare "Dun In The Dark" ApHC / ApHCC. Darby is her name, out of the prize winning maritime stallion "Dun By Charm". She is a four time top five finisher (halter) at the World Appaloosa Show (ApHC), and the Reserve Champion Nationally in Non Pro and Open (halter) for her age division in 2001 & 2002 (ApHC). Darby is a superior halter mare with over 300 points to her record in the USA. This Champion Appaloosa mare will arrive at Logranch Appaloosas for Christmas from the state of Texas. The management of LRA are very excited to introduce Darby as their new cornerstone mare in the breeding program with the stallion "Rocky Ruff". Watch for the offspring at a show soon in '09, '10. See more of Darby at the Logranch webpage link.

      Sadness, as the ApHCC 2000 Aged Hi Point Mare of the year in Canada "Barely Real" was euthanized by vets from Avon Animal Hospital on Thursday 6 September 2007. "Charlotte was diagnosed suddenly with an ailment in her coffin bone, that had no chance of recovery. She was a great champion, of the New Brunswick and Nova Scotia Appaloosa horse shows ,winning 15 Champion of Champions and numerous Grand Champions & High Point awards that year of 2000." Barely Real was a 1999 Hi Point mare in the state of Florida with the Central Florida Appaloosa Horse Club , and a four time World Appaloosa show qualifier {ApHC}
She will be missed by all that knew her .. She will rest forever at Logranch Appaloosas in Ardoise, NS.

Congratulations to competitors Brittany Seguin, Ellen Shaffner, Dawn Stevens, Peter Arsenault, and Gloria Marshall on a very successful trip to Skowhegan, Maine, for the 38th Annual Maine State Appaloosa Horse Show.   Brittany came away as Res. High Point Novice 18 & under!   I'm sure all are looking forward to returning next year for the lobster and chicken dinner.

Congratulations goes to all who came to our second show of the season, held in conjunction with the Heritage Championships in Windsor, NS, during the weekend of Aug. 11 & 12.   It was the largest ApHCNS show in seven years, and the Heritage show had numerous classes with more than 15 horses in them.

Thank you to those who participated and represented the ApHCNS on Aug. 4th during the Sam Slick parade in Windsor, NS.   They received first place as the top horse entry for the parade.

Thanks to all who came out, volunteered and rode their horses at the 1st Annual Roy Robinson Hall of Fame Trail ride.   Though small in numbers, those who rode their horses were very mighty, and vow to be back next year!
